Privacy Policy for Nothing Speedometer

Effective Date: June 14, 2026

⚠️ Brand Disclaimer: The word "Nothing" in the app name "Nothing Speedometer" refers to the minimalist design philosophy of the app — the concept of "nothing extra" or "nothing unnecessary." It does NOT refer to, and is NOT affiliated with, associated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nothing Technology Limited or any of its products, services, or brands. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

This Privacy Policy describes how Apex Creators ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Nothing Speedometer application (the "App"). The App is a free, ad-supported GPS speedometer available on Android.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require access to certain device data, including Device Identifiers (Advertising ID) and usage data. Data requested locally is retained on your device and is not collected by us directly, except for data collected by third-party service providers as described below.

2. Location Data

Our App requires access to your device's location to function as a speedometer.

3. Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

To improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of the App, we use Google Analytics for Firebase. Firebase collects certain information automatically, including:

This data is stored on Google's secure servers and is analyzed in aggregate to monitor app performance, debug crash/load issues, and understand user engagement. No personally identifiable information (PII) is linked to this analytics data.

4. Advertising – Google AdMob

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a mobile advertising platform operated by Google LLC. In compliance with Google's Publisher Policies (updated June 2026), we disclose the following about how AdMob collects and uses your data.

4.1 Data Collected Automatically by the Google Mobile Ads SDK

The Google Mobile Ads SDK (GMA SDK) automatically collects and shares the following data for the purposes of advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention:

All data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security).

4.2 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

AdMob may serve personalized (interest-based) ads using your Advertising ID. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your Android device settings:

4.3 Advertising ID Controls

You may reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time through your device's ad settings. On Android 13 and above, deleting the Advertising ID replaces it with a string of zeros, after which no personalized ads will be served.

4.4 EU / EEA, UK & Switzerland – GDPR Consent

GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App will display a consent dialog before serving personalized ads. This is required under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as per Google's EU User Consent Policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time through the App's settings or your device's ad controls.

4.5 US State Privacy Laws

CCPA / CPRA

For users in US states with applicable privacy laws (including California CPRA, Virginia VCDPA, Colorado CPA, and others), Google AdMob supports Restricted Data Processing (RDP) and honors the Global Privacy Platform (GPP) signal. Where required by law, we limit data processing and honor opt-out requests for the sale or sharing of personal data for targeted advertising.

4.6 Children and Advertising

We do not knowingly serve personalized ads to children under 13. Where required, we apply Google's child-directed treatment tags (TFCD / TFUA) to ensure that the Advertising ID and other identifiers are not transmitted for child-directed ad requests. See also Section 9 (Children's Privacy).

4.7 Google's Privacy Policy & AdMob Resources

Data collected via AdMob is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. For full details:
